New Orleans is sinking... to a greater understanding

I was thinking during our discussion today with Lowell about the ironic reference to New Orleans being below sea level after the recent Katrina tragedy. We also talked a little today about how people under certain contexts would have a great knowledge on a certain subject and a greater desire to gain that knowledge (eg. Walkerton and water quality). Because of the tragic circumstances of this even in New Orleans, do you think that this portion of the Climate CHange Theatre has a greater impact than it might have 2 months ago? What do people think?
